It's funny though the "spirituality" actually has its roots in the Bible. Without the talk of the Holy Spirit in the Bible we would never have the word "spirituality." My how far the word has migrated from its biblical roots. At least in pop culture.Bryan Halfertyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06762728212384524156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19138070.post-27559345798431969952008-01-24T13:05:00.000-05:002008-01-24T13:05:00.000-05:00thanks bry, brill. :) my mom just bought me "trave...thanks bry, brill. :)
my mom just bought me "traveling mercies" this week and i'm looking forward to reading it. i've been wrestling with all this- the "spiritual" talks i had w/ croc-wearing types in paia, maui... & then from intellectual friends "here"... it's difficult because i hear where they're coming from - a fear to be "religious" or believe in a single, absolute truth.
i find myself being impressed by people who talk about love & peace but don't necessarily add Jesus (but they believe in Him & learn their love from him).
yesterday, someone older & wiser summed it up for me when she said -"be impressed with Jesus, Tahn".
because i believe you're right "true hope ultimately comes, not from a tradition, but a person...He is the one who offers a real hope."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
